The IT Industry is very broad and covers many professions. As with many industries, there are associations that IT Professionals can become members of, whether you are an IT Consultant or IT Contractor, Software Developer, or other IT Professional.


Each association offers something slightly different with varying levels of membership. In this article, we outline some of the benefits of The Australian Computer Society.


The Australian Computer Society is one of the professional associations for Australia’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.


ACS can help to develop skills, provide networking and development opportunities, as well as provide support to a broad industry.


The ACS can assist all IT Professionals across all IT sectors with the following four membership types on offer:

  • Associate – entry-level and open grade of the ACS
  • Member– a person who has been certified as either a Certified Technologist (CT) or Certified Professional (CP)
  • Senior Member– has been in professional practice for at least 10 years and has been in a Senior ICT Management position for at least five years
  • Fellow– made a distinguished contribution to the field of Information and Communications Technology in Australia and is a member of the professional division of the ACS.
